Sober Thought for the day

“When I stopped living in the problem and began living in the solution, the problem went away.”
― Alcoholics Anonymous

To me, living in the solution means striving to see the silver lining, the positive side of each circumstance. Through sobriety I’ve learned most obstacles are in fact opportunities for growth. Number 9

Psalm of the Day
Responsorial Psalm Ps 98:1, 3cd-4, 5-6

R. (3cd) All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation by our God.
Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
break into song; sing praise.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

Sing praise to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
sing joyfully before the King, the LORD.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

Today’s Saint
Everyday, Jesus humbles himself just as He did when He came from His heavenly throne into the Virgin’s womb; everyday He comes to us and lets us see Him in abjection, when He descends from the bosom of the Father into the hands of the priest at the altar. St. Francis of Assisi

  1. Happy New Year, Regina!

    Growth, opportunity, tough times – they seem to be linked, don’t they? I like your perspective there – look for the good stuff, ignore the not so good. Learn, stretch, grown.

    Hope you are doing well 🙂

    Blessings,
    Paul
